hello it is my blog!

11/4/25, WALGREENS HORROR TIME
I got a lung infection last week. i thouht it was a cold or something so i was chill hacking out all my Organs until eventually i was fed up and went to the school doctors, who perscribed me antibiotics. Now I can't swallow pills so I requested it in liquid form. The dispensary at the school couldn't do that so they sent it to a Walgreens down the road (Walgreens One). I go to the Walgreens on Friday and wait for my Delisious Medicine but the pharacists notice that the doctor didn't order enough liquid medicine for the full treatment. They sell me the first half for a copay of $10 and contact the doctor, and tell me i can get the rest on Monday.

Over the weekend, I go to see a David Byrne (fantastic) with my family and I decide to go home for a while because I was still terribly sick. I figured I can just get it transfered to the Walgreens in my hometown two hours away from my college (Walgreens Two). I have three-ish doses.

On Monday I remembered I had to get my perscription transfered, so I try to call the doctor. The desk person says they will call me back, but I never get a call, so I call them and ask about it. They said they called. I realized I had my old phone number in the system so I corrected it. The doctor does not call me, so I call back again and the desk person gives me her phone number to call myself so I called and she said to call the pharmacy instead.

I called Walgreens 1 and explain my situation, they say that I have to call Walgreens 2. I call Walgreens 2 and they say that they can't transfer it because it's counted as a partial refill, which can only be filled at the same Walgreens, but if Walgreens 1 closes the perscription then Walgreens 2 can open it and fufill my perscription. They tell me they will take care of it themselves and text me when it's ready for pickup that same Monday. Awesome Sauce I say! I never get any texts or calls the rest of the day.

Tuesday (today), the day I am out of full doses is Here. I call Walgreens 2 to ask if they ever got my perscription figured out. They say that they couldn't do it because I hadn't paid for it at Walgreens 1. I was like well i'm fairly certain I did! so I called Walgreens 1 and they say that my card didn't go through, and they didn't notice until late Friday. They supposedly called me but I didn't see any call come through. I ask if i can pay over the phone or online and they say No you would have to make a Walgreens account and add a card to the Expresspay. I'm like what is that and how do i do it. they phone person tells me so I spend like thirty minutes on Walgreen's horribly laggy and glitchy website making my account and attaching a card. i called Walgreens 1 and they successfully let me pay for it and closed my perscription. Slay!

I call Walgreens 2 Again to say hey I did it it's paid for and everything can I have my medicine now? and the person says Yes you can have it on Thursday. Now you see. When you start antibiotics you have to finish them, you can't just stop mid way. Also, I was going to be back in College city on Thursday. I told the guy and they said Okay we'll have it ready in like 90 minutes. Wowie! Finally!

My mom goes to pick it up because she was going out anyway and calls me very annoyed at the Walgreens. They did not let her pick it up, and didn't know what she was talking about with the 90 minutes thing. They said we couldn't pick it up until Thursday because that was when the insurance would process it. My mom offered to pay out of pocket for it then and they didn't let her.

So I call them asking what's going on and they say that the insurance can't process it until Thursday, but maybe try to get the Walgreens 1 to cancel the perscription at their store so that Walgreens 2 can process it at their store instead. I thought that already happened, and also that makes no sense, but sure. I called Walgreens 2. They say they DID cancel it on their end. I call Walgreens 1 to inform them but I get a robot telling me they are 'having difficulties' and hanging up on me. I called Walgreens 1 to ask if THEY can tell Walgreens 2 that they canceled the perscription but they say if I can't get through to Walgreens 2, then they probably can't either.

I waited about 40 minutes and called again. This time I got through, explained the situtation again, and was connected to the dispensary side of the pharmacy. The same woman from last night, who told me she would take care of the whole thing before the payment situation presented itself, picked up and thank GOODNESS because she is so competent. She told me that the insurance wouldn't process it until Thursday, but she could do a manual workaround where we could pick it up today and then she would put it through to the insurance on Thursday. I was So Revelived. i told my cat. now i have it. HURRAH!

the moral of the story is that someimes random people are super good at their jobs. this blog post is dedicated to the random walgreens woman. we love working around annoying insurance stuff!
